Job summary

AUTOKINITON in Michigan invites you to an internship in industrial controls, PLC programming, automation, and robotics within a fast-paced automotive environment.

You’ll assist with troubleshooting, firmware updates, system validations, and process improvements, working alongside Maintenance and Engineering teams across multiple locations.

Placement depends on business needs and location availability (Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, South Carolina, Mississippi).

Responsibilities

• Assist with PLC troubleshooting, program analysis, firmware updates, and controls system improvements within a manufacturing environment.
• Support electrical and circuit analysis activities to identify issues and improve equipment performance and reliability.
• Gain hands-on experience with industrial network communications, including the setup and validation of PLC networks and connected devices.
• Participate in error-proofing projects by auditing existing systems, implementing improvements, and supporting quality-focused engineering initiatives.
• Assist with the installation, startup, debugging, and validation of automation equipment, including PED welding systems and related controls.
• Work alongside Maintenance and Engineering teams to troubleshoot equipment, improve manufacturing processes, and enhance operational efficiency.
• Develop an understanding of robotic systems, automation technologies, HMI applications, and robot programming used in modern manufacturing operations.
