Job summary

Trane Technologies, a world leader in HVAC controls and building automation, is seeking a field-based technician to commission, program, and service projects on customer sites across Alabama. You will handle end-to-end testing, documentation, and on-site troubleshooting to ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements include 1+ years in electrical or HVAC controls, a high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience with electrical and/or commercial HVAC controls / building automation systems.
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld devices.
• Valid driver's license for 12+ months without major violations.

Responsibilities

• Commission, program, and test on assigned projects.
• Document verification and sequence validation; close-out requirements.
• Represent the company by servicing products and equipment on-site and ensuring customer satisfaction by diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems at customer locations.
• Coordinate with team leader and customer to understand requirements for installation and repairs; forecast issues and gather materials for on-site work.
• Keep current on Trane products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems.
• Enforce safety to the highest standards and maintain security and accountability of company assets.
• Display team effort and dedication to customers by willing to work overtime and occasional overnight stays.
• In this role you will be pulling wire, running conduit, and performing on-site commissioning, programming, and testing.

What You Will Do

• Responsible for commissioning, programming, setting up graphics, communications link, end to end testing, troubleshooting and servicing on assigned projects.
• Responsible for documenting point to point verification, sequence of operations validation and job close out requirements.
• Represents the company by serving as the direct customer contact and is responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems at customer’s location.
• Coordinates with team leader and customer to precisely understand requirements for all on-site installation and repairs by forecasting issues, gathering materials and synchronizing on-site work.
• Keeps current on Trane products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems.
• Continually enforces safety to the highest standards and maintains security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions.
• Displays team effort and dedication to customers by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weeks as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays.

In this exciting role in our Contracting Division, you will be pulling wire and running conduit, commissioning, programming, setting up graphics, communications link, end to end testing, and troubleshooting on assigned projects.

What You Will Bring

• A High School Diploma or equivalent required, and typically at least 3-5 years of experience in HVAC/Controls. Technical School or formal training is preferred.
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with hand held computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
• Previous experience with DDC controls system preferred.
