Qualifications

Controls Engineer (Mid & Senior)

This role will be onsite in our facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

What You’ll Do as a Mid-Level – Controls Engineer II:

• Design electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical
• Program PLCs and HMIs to customer specifications
• Define I/O for PLCs and robots
• Path program 1+ robot platforms
• Troubleshoot and support system startups
• Mentor junior engineers and technical staff
• Perform basic pneumatic/electrical calculations
• Create standards and templates

Successful Mid-Level Candidates Will Bring:

• 3+ years of experience in controls engineering
• Proficiency with Studio5000, FT View, Fanuc, ABB, AutoCAD Electrical
• Experience with Siemens, Omron, GE, or E-Plan is a plus

What You’ll Do as a Senior Level – Controls Engineer III:

• Lead design of controls systems: schematics, software, pneumatics
• Program complex PLC / HMI / Vision / Motion systems
• Mentor, support, and manage personnel across departments
• Drive project execution: timing, budget, and standards
• Guide the department’s technical direction
• Travel 20–40% for customer installations and support

Successful Senior Level Candidates Should Have:

• 7+ years of controls experience in automation
• Strong knowledge of Studio5000, FT View, Fanuc, ABB, and AutoCAD Electrical
• Bonus points for MES, SCADA, Andon experience
• Confidence managing cross-functional teams and outsourced partners
