Job summary

Dauch is seeking a Controls Engineering Tech to provide technical engineering support for processes and engineers in a machining and automation environment. You will maintain CNC programs, robot programs, and assist with start-ups, problem solving, and cycle-time improvements in a fast-paced plant in Detroit.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma, 2 years in engineering/manufacturing, and knowledge of CNC processes, G-code, assembly automation, and robotic loading/unloading of machine

Responsibilities

• Technical expert in assigned area.
• Maintain CNC programs and processes and any program changes.
• Maintain robot programming and any program changes. Ensure robots are operating properly.
• Ensure appropriate cycle time is maintained.
• Provides various training to operations for tools, grinding, balancer, change-overs, gauges, chucks.
• Establish loader teach points for automated lathes (i.e. Fuji & Murata).
• Adjust robot teach points.
• Assist maintenance with any repairs when needed.
• Assure proper preventive maintenance is completed.
• Assist manufacturing engineers with new job start-ups and problem solving process (Green Belt tasks).
• Produce trial run parts on new job start-ups.
• Implementation of improvement project.
• Trouble shoot assembly processes
• Maintain or improve cycle times for assembly processes
• Other duties assigned as needed
