BHS Robotics is seeking a Controls Engineering Manager to join our growing team in Hanover Park, IL. This is an on-site position requiring up to 20% travel.

Summary: As the Controls Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of Controls and Electrical engineers. Your responsibilities include validating system costs during quotation, ensuring project timelines and budgets are met, and overseeing design, development, testing, and commissioning of control systems. Your leadership will ensure technical excellence and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the controls engineering team through all project phases, producing documentation such as BOMs, schematics, software, and manuals.
2. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and build teams to deliver quality projects on time.
3. Interface with sales to define control specifications for new projects.
4. Plan strategically to meet corporate goals in product design and development.
5. Mentor team members, establish project priorities, and conduct design reviews.
6. Ensure designs comply with standards, customer specifications, and industry norms.
7. Support additional responsibilities as needed.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering; Master’s preferred.
2. Minimum 10 years of experience in a technology-driven industry, focusing on control systems.
3. Strong problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.
4. Expertise in control logic, programming languages like C++, and systems such as HMI, SCADA, VFDs, robotics.
5. Proficiency in Office365 and engineering tools like AutoCAD Electrical, Motoman Inform, and others.
6. Leadership qualities and commitment to customer satisfaction.
7. Ability to work onsite and travel up to 20%.

Salary & Benefits: This full-time role offers a salary up to $156k plus full benefits including medical, dental, vision, insurance, life and disability coverage, 6% 401(k) match, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, legal assistance, and employee support programs.
