Oshkosh Corporation's JLG unit is seeking an Electrical & Controls Engineer Intern to support the development and testing of control systems for mobile elevating platforms. The role combines office tasks with field activities, emphasizing safety, clear communication, and teamwork.

You will engage with CAD tools such as Creo Parametric, Pro-E or CATIA and learn to interpret electrical schematics while contributing to ongoing control-system projects under supervision.

Qualifications

Conduct duties consistent with the Company’s mission statement, quality objectives, and defined policies and procedures.Promote a people first culture by integrating into and contributing to a cohesive team with creativity, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.Ability to build and install wire harnesses.Ability to follow written test procedures.Ability to learn and operate a Digital-Multimeter (DMM)Troubleshoot electrical controls related process and component issues.Instrumentation and controls debuggingStart-up and qualification of control systems on new equipmentExecute controls projects under the guidance of engineeringOther duties as assigned.Regular attendance is required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSPerusing a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, robotics, Controls Engineering or a related field.This role combines office-based administrative duties with physical activity in field or production environments.In the office setting, tasks may require extended computer use, sitting, and attending meetings.Field or floor work may involve walking across various terrains or shop floors, standing, moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), climbing stairs, and exposure to varying temperatures or noise levels.Must be able to shift focus between detailed cognitive work and occasional physical tasks as needed.STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONSGood oral and written communication skills.Previous internship experience or work-related experience.Previous experience or heightened interest in mechanical design.Experience in extracurricular activities outside academic requirements (SAE teams, etc..)Experience using Creo Parametric, Pro-E, CATIA or a similar CAD system is a plus.Understanding of basic steel and sheet metal fabrication principlesKnowledge of construction industry and equipment used.Strong mechanical aptitudeWORKING CONDITIONSThe following represents general working conditions for this role.
