Job summary

JLG Industries, an Oshkosh company, is seeking an Electrical & Controls Engineer Intern. The role supports construction, installation, operation, maintenance, testing and writing of requirements for electric-over-hydraulic control systems.

You will read schematics, install wire harnesses, and learn to use a digital multimeter in a collaborative team environment. Minimum qualifications include pursuing a bachelor’s in electrical, controls, robotics engineering or related field and a 3.0 GPA.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, Controls Engineering, Robotics Engineering or a related field.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

Responsibilities

• Understand, follow, and enforce shop safety practices and policy.
• Read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Build and install wire harnesses.
• Assist in construction, installation, operation, maintenance, testing and systems requirements writing of electric-over-hydraulic control systems.
• Learn and operate a Digital-Multimeter (DMM) and troubleshoot electrical controls under supervision.

The Electrical & Controls Engineer Intern will ideally have a basic understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering concepts that will aid their communication and collaboration with other members of the Electrical & Controls Team. Will assist in the construction, installation, operation, maintenance, testing and systems requirements writing of electric-over-hydraulic control systems employed at JLG.

• Troubleshoot electrical controls related process and component issues.
• Instrumentation and controls debugging
• Start-up and qualification of control systems on new equipment
• Execute controls projects under the guidance of engineering
• Other duties as assigned.
• Regular attendance is required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Perusing a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, Controls Engineering, Robotics Engineering or a related field
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• This role combines office-based administrative duties with physical activity in field or production environments.
• In the office setting, tasks may require extended computer use, sitting, and attending meetings.
• Field or floor work may involve walking across various terrains or shop floors, standing, moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), climbing stairs, and exposure to varying temperatures or noise levels.
• Must be able to shift focus between detailed cognitive work and occasional physical tasks as needed.

Pay Range

$18.00 - $37.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
