Job summary

GableTek in Troy, MI is seeking a controls engineer to design, engineer, and procure assembly equipment and systems for future programs. You will program the assembly equipment, support manufacturing needs, and repair engineering-related electrical breakdowns, collaborating with Production, Maintenance, and Process teams.

You will lead ground-up robotics and controls hardware, work on SCADA/MES improvements, and develop maintenance documentation.

Qualifications

2+ years in a manufacturing environment.
5+ years PLC and HMI programming (Allen Bradley and/or Siemens).
2+ years of Robotics programming.
Experience reading and creating electrical prints and schematics.
Experience with manufacturing equipment is required.
Ability to communicate with customers both internal and external.
APC, MPC, and DCS experience highly preferred.
Experience programming vision systems (Keyence and/or Cognex).
Project management/leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Design, engineer, and procure assembly equipment for future programs.
Hardware design and program assembly equipment.
Apply safety rules with immediate reaction in case of danger.
Ensure safety devices are operational before restart.
Develop new processes or process improvements with cross-functional teams.
Ground up robotics and controls hardware and logic design, electrical schematics, BOM, assembly, debug, and validation.
Test, update, and industrialize existing equipment.
Travel about 25%.
Create monthly/annual preventative maintenance documentation.
