Job summary

LVI Associates in Austin, TX is seeking a seasoned Controls Engineer to design, program, and commission industrial automation projects across multiple environments. You will contribute to system integration, field start-up, and ongoing support for high‑reliability control solutions.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience with Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley or Siemens PLCs and is proficient with HMI/SCADA platforms like Ignition, VTScada, or Wonderware.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Controls Engineering or Automation Engineering experience.
  • Strong PLC programming experience (Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, ProfiNet, etc.).
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve control system issues during testing and commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement control systems for industrial automation projects.
  • Program, test, and troubleshoot PLC platforms such as Rockwell / Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or similar.
  • Develop and configure HMI/SCADA applications including Ignition, VTScada, Wonderware, or equivalent platforms.
  • Participate in system integration, commissioning, and field start-up activities.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control system documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet performance, quality, and safety standards.
