Actalent in Georgetown, KY, seeks a Controls Engineer to support the EES Assembly Planning team with design review, installation and commissioning of plant equipment and control systems. The role requires strong PLC skills, vendor coordination, and hands-on startup support.

The position involves travel up to 20% and requires reading electrical drawings, knowledge of Siemens/Omron/Mitsubishi PLCs, and a 2-year technical degree. Onsite contract role with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting skills with systems such as Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi.
• 6+ years of experience with PLCs.
• 4+ years of experience with electrical circuits and industrial controls.
• 2-year technical degree or completion of a trade school program (EET or Industrial Maintenance Technology) or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
• MS Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, TEAMs.

Responsibilities

• Review equipment specifications and designs, identify improvements, and conduct vendor buyoffs to confirm equipment compliance.
• Verify the safety, quality, and productivity of equipment.
• Investigate and determine modification requirements, implement changes, and conduct trials and adjustments.
• Oversee vendor installations and facilitate the kanban process to lower costs and decrease project time.
• Enhance equipment quality and productivity by implementing adjustments identified during online vehicle trials.
• Install, set up, and troubleshoot program controllers such as Allen-Bradley.
• Provide training to maintenance members on newly implemented equipment.
• Share subject matter expertise with local NAMC Maintenance and Production Members.
