Job summary

Kyyba is seeking an on-site automation technician/engineer to support automated manufacturing equipment, AMRs, and robotics. You will troubleshoot PLCs, review control logic, and help with commissioning, startup, and validation of systems.

This role collaborates across production, maintenance and materials teams to improve uptime and drive automation opportunities. 80-90% on the factory floor, with involvement in capital projects and Industry 4.0 initiatives in a Fortune 100 manufacturing

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with automated manufacturing equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience with AMRs, robotics, and fleet management systems a plus.
• Proficiency with PLCs and machine integration is expected.
• Ability to work with production, maintenance and materials teams.

Responsibilities

• Respond to carry-over issues and support troubleshooting for automated equipment.
• Assist maintenance and operations with breakdowns and production interruptions.
• Utilize PLCs for troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.

Specific Responsibilities of this Position

• Respond to carry-over issues from previous shifts and support troubleshooting efforts for automated manufacturing equipment.
• Assist maintenance and operations teams with equipment breakdowns, automation faults, and production interruptions.
• Utilize PLCs (Allen Bradley and Siemens) primarily for troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
• Review and interpret controls logic to identify root causes of equipment and automation issues.
• Troubleshoot Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), including routing, navigation, communication, and material delivery interruptions.
• Support AMR fleet management software and related systems to ensure reliable transportation of materials throughout the facility.
• Work closely with production, maintenance, and materials teams to maintain uptime and achieve production targets.
• Document troubleshooting activities, corrective actions, and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Partner with materials, logistics, production, and maintenance teams to identify additional opportunities for automation and robotic integration.
• Assist with AMR and Cobot commissioning activities, startup support, validation testing, and production launch efforts.
• Contribute to capital projects involving advanced automation, automated material handling systems, robotics, and smart factory initiatives.
• Create and maintain automation documentation, process flows, operating procedures, and project records.
