Job summary

Global Connect Technologies seeks an experienced Controls Engineer IV – Staff Engineer to lead control system design, validation, and new product development for power generation and medium-voltage systems.

You will develop control algorithms, implement PLC/embedded solutions, mentor junior engineers, and drive model-based design using MATLAB/Simulink, with hands-on testing including HIL/SIL and system validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of controls engineering experience.
• Strong experience with control algorithms, PLC/embedded programming, and MATLAB/Simulink.
• Experience with medium-voltage power systems.
• Knowledge of CAN, Modbus, or Ethernet/IP.
• Experience with HIL/SIL testing and system validation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize control algorithms for gensets, inverters, paralleling, and power management systems.
• Design and integrate controls for medium-voltage systems (1 kV–38 kV).
• Develop PLC and embedded controls and industrial communications.
• Use MATLAB/Simulink for model-based design, simulation, and code generation.
• Perform HIL/SIL, bench, system-level, and fault-injection testing.
• Work with protective relays, switchgear, breaker controls, and safety interlocks.
• Support product development from concept through production.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.
