Tiello has partnered with a well-established Industrial Manufacturer in Greater Pittsburg, PA on their search for a Controls Engineer to work on plant improvement automation projects, continued maintenance and managing the breakdown, design and commissioning of production equipment.

The Controls Engineer will oversee, monitor and maintain production equipment across the plant. The Engineer will also work closely with the Engineering and Plant Managers to ensure timely and quality completion of the projects from design stage to commissioning.

Title: Control Engineer (3+ years)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the implementation and follow-through of specific projects from initial design through to final commissioning
• Collaborate on trial runs at the plant to support the development of new processes or products
• Perform diagnostics, inspections, and performance tuning of machinery, including upkeep of PLC systems
• Handle the design, troubleshooting, programming, and repair of electrical, PLC, control, robotic, and network infrastructure across the site
• Manage the maintenance and upgrading of the facility’s PLC systems
• Liaise with equipment manufacturers to gather specifications and pricing for new or replacement systems

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer
• Strong hands-on background in maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical systems such as pumps, gearboxes, chains, conveyors, motors, seals, bearings, pneumatics, and hydraulics
• Skilled in reading, editing, and managing complex machine programming languages, including structured text, function block diagrams, sequential function charts, and ladder logic, with a focus on precision and accuracy
• Extensive familiarity with industrial communication protocols and fieldbus networks, including Ethernet, DeviceNet, Interbus, DH+, and Modbus
• Advanced capability with automated control platforms, particularly Allen Bradley and Siemens systems, including RSLogix500, RSLogix5000, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, and SLC families
