Job summary

Trex Company in Winchester, VA seeks an electrical/controls engineer to design and program PLC/HMI systems, update electrical panels, and support capital projects. You will work with process engineers and maintenance to implement changes, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure NFPA70E safety compliance.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s in electrical engineering or related field with 2–4 years of controls experience or an associate degree with 5+ years, plus knowledge of PLC/HMI, panel design, and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field with 2–4 years of controls design and programming experience.
Alternative: associate degree with at least 5 years of controls design and programming experience.
Strong knowledge of PLC and HMI programming and electrical panel design.
Experience troubleshooting equipment; MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

Develops and executes changes to PLC controls with process engineers.
Maintains documentation for electrical panels and PLC controls.
Supports capital projects: panel design, vendor coordination, PLC/HMI programming, startup.
Troubleshoot PLCs, drives, instrumentation and electrical installations.
Develops procedures and trains others to handle PLC/electrical issues.
Maintains spare parts and ensures equipment is current.
