Job summary

Milwaukee Tool seeks a Controls Engineer II to design and implement advanced control algorithms for battery and power tool tech. You will collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions and ensure robust performance across development stages.

Requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and 2+ years in related work, plus MATLAB/Simulink proficiency and schematics literacy. 10% travel may be domestic or international.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of related industry work experience.
• Working knowledge of model-based control development using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Ability to read power electronics schematics and component data sheets.
• Willingness to travel 10% (domestic and international).

Responsibilities

• Design, model, simulate, and implement advanced control algorithms independently and under supervision.
• Develop, analyze, maintain, and document control system architecture.
• Use MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow for development.
• Collaborate with Hardware and Firmware Engineers to optimize algorithms.
• Conduct experiments, simulations, and analyze data to draw conclusions.
• Use lab equipment to validate control algorithms (oscilloscopes, loads, etc.).
• Track projects to ensure schedule adherence and processes.
• Facilitate technical meetings and document presentations.
• Develop manufacturing mindset to enable mass production.
• Learn Milwaukee Tool development and manufacturing processes.
