Job summary

KPI Solutions is seeking a Controls Engineer to contribute to electrical control design and commissioning. You will apply PLC/controls standards and engage hands-on design and product development to support customers and execute business strategy.

You will collaborate with Project Managers and the Controls Manager, complete defined test protocols, and ensure field installation quality while traveling up to 60% across multiple sites in the United States.

Qualifications

• B.S. Electrical Engineering or Trade School equivalent in PLC/Controls Engineering or combination thereof.
• Capable of handling stressful situations with strong analytical, verbal and written communication.
• 1–2 years of controls field installation/commissioning experience.
• Experience in designing/commissioning/troubleshooting controls systems (Rockwell, Siemens, GE, Square D, etc.).
• Knowledge of industrial controls networks (Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet) is a plus.
• Travel up to 60%.

Responsibilities

• Understand project schedules, scope, requirements and equipment functionality.
• Contribute to the team and adapt to change; communicate with Project Managers/Controls Manager.
• Complete defined tests from KPI Integration testing documents and check sheets.
• Communicate with customers during testing processes.
• Ensure quality of field installations and provide updates as appropriate.
• Perform other tasks as directed by management.

Job description

As a Controls Engineer you will participate in electrical control design and commissioning. Utilize standards in electrical controls design, PLC programming and commissioning developed by Kuecker Pulse Integration. Comfortable with hands-on design and product development, supporting customers and executing a business strategy. Thrive in fast-paced uncertain environments

• Follow all safety guidelines, wear appropriate PPE and be safety first oriented
• Follow Standards set forth by Kuecker Pulse Integration
• Understand project schedules and scope of work
• Understand project requirements, specifications, and equipment functionality
• Contribute to the team and be capable of reacting to change
• Communicate well and often with Project Managers and/or Controls Manager
• Complete defined tests from Kuecker Pulse Integration standard testing documents and check sheets
• Communicate well with customers during testing processes
• Ensure quality of field installations
• All other tasks as directed by management

Requirements

• B.S. Electrical Engineering or Trade School equivalent in PLC/Controls Engineering or Combination of Education and Experience equivalent
• Capable of managing stressful situations and maintain strong analytical, verbal and written communication
• 1-2 Years controls field installation/commissioning
• Experience in following and executing multiple tasks, ability to keep track of multiple tasks and complete them all with updates and reports communicated where appropriate
• Knowledge of designing/commissioning/troubleshooting controls systems (i.e. Rockwell, Siemens, GE, Square D, etc.) is a plus
• Knowledge of industrial controls networks (i.e. Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc.) is a plus
• 60% Travel
