Job summary

JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, seeks a Controls Engineer II to design, implement and document controls for automated equipment. You will troubleshoot controllers, ladder logic, and peripheral devices while performing machine power-up and debugging.

The role requires 2+ years of related experience, a degree in electrical engineering, and willingness to travel up to 50% to customer sites and other JR locations. CAD proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level electrical engineering degree or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Minimum 2+ years in controls engineering or related field.
• Experience with PLCs/HMIs/robotics and CAD tools is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and document controls systems for automated equipment.
• Troubleshoot controllers, ladder logic, electrical devices and peripherals.

Job Description

As a Controls Engineer II, you will work with some of the most talented engineers in the automation industry. This role will enable you to perfect your controls experience while integrating some of the most state of the art robotics & technology available. What You’ll Do

• Design, implement and document controls systems for various types of automated equipment
• Troubleshoot robot controllers, ladder logic, electrical control devices, mechanical units, transfer devices and peripheral equipment.
• Perform machine power up, debug and programming.
• Ensure equipment is designed and programmed to specifications using standard techniques and approach.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Associates degree with 2+ years of related experience, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of related experience

Skills You’ll Have

• Experience with any the following: PLC's, HMI's, Robotics, Mechatronics, Motion Control, Vision Systems and/or Programming.
• Experience with CAD (i.e. AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks).
• Ability to understand electrical/pneumatic schematic drawings.

Other Details

• Travel up to 35% - 50% to customer sites & other JR locations
• Train and mentor team members as directed.
