Job summary

CLX Engineering in Atlanta, GA or Sanford, FL is seeking an Automation Engineer (Level I–III) to support a range of automation projects across the portfolio. The role offers leveling I–III placement based on experience, leadership, and technical depth, with a salary range of $75,000–$160,000 and annual performance bonuses.

You'll design and implement control systems, develop PLC/HMI code, review drawings, and serve as a technical contact for customers and project managers.

Qualifications

• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems; knowledge of industrial networks.
• Ability to review designs, create and modify control drawings and documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills; able to coordinate with customers and teams.

Responsibilities

• Support or lead automation projects from design through commissioning.
• Design and develop control systems across electrical, mechanical, and IT disciplines.
• Develop, review, and approve PLC/HMI code, drawings, and documentation.
• Serve as a technical point of contact for customers and project managers.
• Coordinate workloads, priorities, and schedules with engineering and field teams.
• Mentor junior engineers (Level III).
• Drive structured troubleshooting and permanent solutions.
