Job summary
BrightFarms Inc is seeking a Controls Engineer to support automation across our greenhouse operations. The role is site-based with travel to our facilities in TX, GA, and IL.
You will design, implement, and optimize control systems integrating environmental controls, irrigation, harvesting, and packaging processes. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's in electrical/controls/mechatronics, 5+ years in industrial automation, PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley/Siemens), and strong
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, controls engineering, mechatronics, or related field.
- 5+ years in industrial automation or controls engineering.
- Experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
- Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop control systems for automated equipment and greenhouse infrastructure.
- Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems; develop electrical schematics and I/O lists.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, and IoT devices into centralized control systems.
- Travel to sites (TX, GA, IL) and provide remote support; participate in on-call rotation.
