Job Description

CEC Controls Co. Inc. is looking for an Automotive Conveyor Controls Engineer responsible for leading and performing the design of control systems from start to finish, as well as engineering and field startup for the "System Integration in the Electrical Controls" industry within manufacturing. Experience in automotive automation and controls industries is required. Demonstrated troubleshooting and electrical design skills are essential. The position will mainly focus on hardware design, with some knowledge of software design also beneficial. This position can be hybrid.

Responsibilities

  • Electrical – Experience with automotive electrical conveyor system design and calculations.
  • Networking – Knowledge of Ethernet networks; Devicenet knowledge is also required.
  • Programming – General knowledge of conveyor programming tools and requirements.
  • Mechanical – Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, FactoryCAD, and EPLAN.
  • Standards – Knowledge of General Motors standards and deliverables.
  • Customer communication – Effectively communicating with customers and supporting the engineering team.
  • Industrial controls (PLC & HMI) – Knowledge of industrial controls and automation is required.
  • Communication skills – Proficient in person and remote communication using Microsoft Office 365 tools.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years' experience and knowledge in automotive conveyor electrical design; General Motors design experience is required.
  • Associates degree or related field, or 2-5 years of automation experience; automotive plant experience is a plus.
  • Experience reviewing project specifications and scope of work.
  • Assisting in installation and debugging conveyor systems.
  • Providing launch and standby support at end-user facilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to self-manage remote work and work in the Warren CEC office as needed.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship is required.
  • Travel requirement of up to approximately 25%.
