Job summary

Global Connect Technologies in Michigan/Illinois is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer with GCCS to support automotive manufacturing and automation projects. You will design, program, and commission PLCs, integrate controls, troubleshoot systems, and ensure GCCS standards are met in a fast-paced production environment.

You will collaborate with controls, electrical, robotics, manufacturing, and maintenance teams to ensure automated equipment and production lines are integrated,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Controls Engineering / Controls Programming.
• Strong hands-on experience with GCCS.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and Studio 5000 / RS Logix 5000.
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming experience.
• Experience with HMI programming and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Ethernet/IP, remote I/O, VFDs, sensors, and industrial control systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC control programs for automated manufacturing equipment.
• Work extensively with GCCS standards and controls architecture.
• Perform controls integration, commissioning, startup, and debugging of production equipment.
• Troubleshoot PLC, I/O, HMI, network, sensors, actuators, and electrical control issues.
• Support Allen-Bradley PLCs, including RSLogix 500/5000 and Studio 5000.
• Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication networks, remote I/O, Ethernet/IP, and related devices.
• Review electrical schematics, I/O drawings, sequence documentation, and control panel designs.
• Develop and modify HMI screens, alarms, diagnostics, and operator interfaces.
• Integrate PLC controls with robots, conveyors, vision systems, safety devices, and other automation equipment.
