Work Arrangement

Onsite - This role requires the employee to be onsite on a full-time basis. The primary work location will be the GM Global Technical Center in Warren, MI. Some domestic travel to manufacturing sites, such as Kokomo, IN, may be required.

The Role

The Autonomous Robotics Center (ARC) team is seeking a Controls Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for automated machinery and processes.

You should have expertise in PLC programming, HMI development, and control system troubleshooting to optimize manufacturing operations. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies, ensure system performance and safety, and support maintenance and production teams is essential.

What You Will Do

• Design, develop, and implement control systems for automated machinery and processes.
• Program and configure PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and other control devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control systems and automated equipment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and optimize existing systems.
• Conduct testing and validation of control systems to meet performance and safety standards.
• Create and maintain documentation for control systems, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and software programs.
