Morbark LLC in Winn, Michigan seeks a Controls Software Engineer to design, develop and support embedded software and control systems for Morbark equipment. You’ll work with electrical, hydraulic and mechanical engineers to deliver safe, efficient, and reliable machine control solutions.

The role focuses on designing and testing software used to control machine functions, integrating systems, and providing real-time feedback to operators. Travel as needed is possible.

Qualifications

• Design, develop and support embedded software for machine control systems.
• Work with electrical, hydraulic and mechanical engineers to integrate control systems.
• Develop software to control machine functions and operator interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement embedded software that controls machine functions and operator interfaces.
• Develop software modules and control logic for machine operation using platforms such as Parker IQAN, CODESYS, CodeAssist, or similar control environments.
• Design, implement and tune control loops using PID, ladder logic, scripting, and structured programming languages.
• Write and maintain code enabling machine functionality, diagnostics and displays.
• Define and implement control algorithms for electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Integrate software with sensors, electrical components and hydraulic systems.
• Develop functional requirements and control strategies for safe and efficient operation.
• Collaborate with electrical, hydraulic and mechanical engineers on machine designs.
