Job summary

Morbark LLC, based in Winn, Michigan, seeks a Controls Software Engineer to develop embedded software and control systems for industrial equipment. You will design software modules, implement control logic, and ensure safe, efficient operation across electrical and hydraulic subsystems.

Join the Electrical & Hydraulic Engineering team to deliver real-time feedback, test and troubleshoot, and support both new product development and ongoing improvements. Field and shop work may be required.

Qualifications

Experience developing embedded software or machine control systems.
Knowledge of industrial control systems or PLC-based platforms (Parker IQAN, CODESYS).
Ability to read drawings, schematics, and operator manuals.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement embedded software that controls machine functions and operator interfaces.
Develop software modules and control logic for machine operation using Parker IQAN, CODESYS, CodeAssist, or similar environments.
Design, implement, and tune control loops using PID, ladder logic, scripting, or structured programming languages.
Write and maintain code for diagnostics and operator displays.
Define and implement control algorithms managing electrical and hydraulic systems.
Collaborate with electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical engineers to integrate controls into designs.
Validate software and control performance at bench and machine levels.
