Ossid LLC in Rocky Mount, NC is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, troubleshoot, and implement electrical control systems for automated packaging machinery. You will work with a cross‑functional team and report to the Controls Engineering Manager.

Key responsibilities include creating electrical schematics in AutoCad Electrical, designing panel layouts, building Bills of Materials, and preparing documentation and training materials. Occasional travel up to 10% to customer sites is required.

This opportunity is a highly visible position and is an exciting chance to demonstrate hands‑on and inventive engineering capabilities within a multi‑discipline engineering team. Ossid supports a complete manufacturing facility including multiple CNC machining centers, computer controlled sheet metal fabrication, and advanced welding stations giving engineering the ability to be involved in every step of the manufacturing process. The position reports to the Controls Engineering Manager.

The primary focus of this position is to design, troubleshoot, implement, and test the electrical control systems for automated packaging machinery.

The position will also require travel (up to 10%) to customer locations to oversee installation, provide service, and commissioning of the machines as well as provide in‑house and on‑site technical training for other employees and customers.

• Bachelor's of Science, Technical School degree ore equivalent proven work experience in control software design and implementation
• Familiarity with SolidWorks or AutoCAD electrical design software
• Knowledge of machine control including I/O hardware, signal conditioning, field devices & sensors
• Ability to work on a cross‑functional team including engineering and field services
• Position requires ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form
