Job summary

Rennco, a Pro Mach division based in Homer, MI, designs and manufactures vertical bagging systems and heat sealing machines. This role focuses on designing controls systems, developing PLC/HMI programs, and creating complete design packages with BOMs and drawings.

You will collaborate with mechanical and manufacturing teams, test and debug controls on packaging equipment, and occasionally travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in the field or related area and familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures.
• Proficient with current versions of RA RsLogix 500 and 5000 software; experience with AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical for electrical schematics and control layouts; MS Office applications required.
• 4 year degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field desired – or – Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to handle multi-tasked roles.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects concurrently and maintain attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork.
• Working knowledge of pneumatics, I/O devices, AC/DC drives, servos, operator interfaces, Motion Control, network communications, etc.
• Experience in packaging equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Commission, download, test and debug controls systems on various packaging equipment.
• Create full design packages including BOM, detail drawings, assembly drawings and layouts.
• Check and validate final design documentation, parts lists and drawings for completeness and accuracy.
• Develop PLC, HMI and Motion Control programs for assigned projects.
• Provide technical support to service and customers in the field as needed.
• Research and evaluate new controls products, providing feedback and recommendations.
• Coordinate with mechanical design and manufacturing to resolve problems and develop electrical designs.
• Educate and train other employees as required.
• May travel for projects.
• Complete other tasks as assigned by Director of Engineering.

Through multiple brands, Pro Mach provides product packaging and processing equipment, PMMI certified training, installation, parts, and service for primary and secondary packaging, flexible packaging, end-of-line packaging, and identification and tracking. This position does require design experience using AutoCAD.
