Job summary

Southlake Automation is seeking a full-time Controls Engineer to contribute in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment. You will work on electrical control design, PLC programming, commissioning, panel build supervision and field services across automotive, chemical, consumer goods, food & beverage, and material handling industries.

The role emphasizes project management, hardware and software development, and remote support with customers.

Qualifications

0 to 10 years of experience.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or related field.
Experience with PLC programming and control systems.

Responsibilities

Design and develop control systems for diverse projects.
Manage project scope from specification to commissioning.
Ensure designs meet NEC/UL508A standards.
Program PLCs and operator interfaces (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Automation Direct, Mitsubishi).
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues during commissioning.
Communicate project status with customers.
Lead multiple projects from concept through commissioning.
Develop software applications with Visual Basic, C#, Python and SQL Server.
