Job summary

E Tech Group is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join our Mission Critical Team in Plano, TX. The role focuses on designing and deploying industrial control systems for data centers and critical facilities.

You will support projects through design and implementation, develop documentation, and perform benchTesting of PLC/ HMI systems. Travel ~30% is required, with opportunities for mentoring and growth within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience with industrial control system applications.
• 3+ years in data center HVAC/BMS/EPMS environments.
• Strong IT/OT network knowledge for PLCs and industrial protocols.
• Willingness to travel ~30% and work in live environments.

We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join our Mission Critical Team, which specializes in the design and deployment of industrial control systems in the rapidly expanding data center market.

You will:

• Serve as a team member supporting the execution of project work from design through implementation.
• Develop/modify design documentation – drawing packages, method of procedures, sequence of operations, testing scripts.
• Perform quality checks and bench testing of PLC and HMI programs.
• Provide onsite and remote support commissioning system design changes.

You have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience with industrial control system applications.
• 3+ years of experience working with industrial HVAC / BMS / EPMS applications for data center environments.
• Strong understanding of control system network topologies (IT/OT) managing PLC & Industrial Protocol Communications.
• BMS controllers, PLCs, HMIs, supervisory servers, field devices, BACnet/IP and Modbus-based networks.
• SCADA experience – Have successfully completed multiple projects with Inductive Automation Ignition - Perspective. Capable of training/mentoring others and performing technical reviews of work done by others.
• Experience commissioning in “live” environments.
• Willingness to travel approximately 30%
• A DNA comprised of collaboration and teamwork.

You may have:

• Certification with Inductive Automation Ignition products.
• Cisco or other industrial network certifications.
• Familiarity with Schneider Control Expert (PLC) / EPO (SCADA), AVEVA / Wonderware System Platform, and other PLC / SCADA platforms.
• Python, VB, VBA Scripting.
• Kepware or other OPC communications applications.
• Cloud Data Lake platforms for collection, normalization, visualization, and analysis of critical facility operating data.
• Instrumentation calibration / startup experience.
• Experience leading small groups or project teams.
