Job summary

Giga Energy is seeking a controls engineer to support data center cooling products and drive design improvements. You will work on CDUs, FWUs, chillers, and plant managers, performing development, field support, and factory testing.

Based in San Francisco, Long Beach, or Houston with full-time onsite requirements, you may travel up to 50% and collaborate with OEMs during FATs and commissioning. This role offers hands-on impact in a fast-moving AI infrastructure company.

Qualifications

3–6 years of controls experience.
Bachelor's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Design experience with control schematics and P&IDs.
AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN experience.
Rockwell Studio 5000 programming.
PID tuning experience.
Strong field troubleshooting skills.
Able to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

Review Schematics, Layouts, BOM and verify against control narratives and basis of design.
Support PLC logic on CDUs, FWUs, chillers, and chiller plant managers.
Make logic changes and tune PID loops as needed.
Support Ignition BMS screens, tags, and alarms.
Work with OEMs on product issues and improvements.
Support FAT and unit validation before shipment.
On-site startup and commissioning.
Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, instruments, and networks.
Do loop checks and I/O checkouts.
Resolve comms issues (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, OPC-UA).
Capture field changes and redlines.
Turn field redlines into as-built drawings.
Update schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs for design changes.
Update I/O lists and control narratives to match.
