Job summary

FORTNA partners with the world’s leading brands to transform omnichannel and parcel distribution operations. The Controls Engineer will commission controls for conveyor and sortation systems, working with customer systems to implement site-based controls.

Role involves writing machine code, PLC and HMI programming, and collaboration with Fortna employees, customers, and vendors. Travel up to 40–50% is required and a relevant Electrical Engineering degree is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in industrial controls environment.
• Experience with PLC and HMI programming and electrical design.

Responsibilities

• Write and implement machine code, integrate subsystems, and assist on-site commissioning.
• Utilize HMI platforms such as Wonderware, RSView, Factory Talk View, Ignition.
• Implement PLC and HMI programs under supervision of Senior Controls Engineers.
• Collaborate with customers, vendors, and Fortna team during design and commissioning.
• Review electrical designs and provide as-built drawings.
