Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking a Controls Engineer for a facilities management client in Pontiac, MI. The role focuses on maintaining and optimizing building automation systems, PLCs, and control networks to support safe, efficient facility operations.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience with industrial controls, PLCs, HMIs, and BMS such as Tridium. Prior exposure to Maximo CMMS and Corrigo is preferred, with a strong commitment to reliability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience with industrial control systems, PLCs, HMIs, and building automation systems.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting, especially with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with building management systems, particularly Tridium platforms, and familiarity with VFDs, HMI, and SCADA applications.
  • Maximo CMMS experience and Corrigo work order management system are required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize building automation systems, PLCs, and control systems to ensure efficient facility operations.
  • Respond to and resolve preventive maintenance tasks, work orders, and service calls promptly and effectively.
  • Manage building management systems, including Tridium platforms, coordinating with contractors to ensure proper functionality.
  • Create and maintain backups of PLC, HMI, and VFD software parameters monthly to ensure system integrity.
  • Provide emergency after-hours support for critical systems as needed, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

As a Controls Engineer, you will be an essential part of the Facilities Maintenance department, supporting the seamless operation and optimization of building systems. Pay Range: $42 to $44 Per hour
What's the Job?
