Job summary

Searchmasters Inc in Virginia is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to drive plant modernization. You will lead electrical and controls aspects of capital projects, from planning through commissioning, delivering robust automation solutions.

The role requires hands-on PLC, HMI, and VFD programming, along with 3D panel design and project leadership. You will work across legacy systems to boost efficiency and reliability in an aerospace/military-adjacent manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Engineering required.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with programming electrical systems (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs).
• Broad familiarity with automation brands and platforms is desirable.
• Ability to upgrade legacy systems and modernization efforts.
• Proficiency in 3D design for electrical panel layouts.

• Deliver electrical engineering and project management expertise to enhance plant operations and drive continuous improvement
• Manage electrical and controls aspects of capital projects, process improvement initiatives, and equipment upgrades
• Lead projects end-to-end from planning and design through installation, startup, and commissioning
• Provide programming expertise across a range of automation systems including PLCs, HMIs, Servo Drives, VFDs, and SCADA systems
• Identify and implement improvements to automation and control systems to optimize plant performance
• Develop electrical panel layouts utilizing 3D design packages

Key Requirements

• BS Degree in Engineering required
• Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience with programming electrical systems such as PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs

• Ability to work with diverse legacy systems and drive modernization and upgrade efforts
