Job summary

TechniBlend is seeking an Entry Level Controls Engineer to join our Engineering Team. This role supports the design and specification of electrical and controls systems on TechniBlend projects under the guidance of senior engineers.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering, 0–2 years of experience, PLC/HMI experience (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, Ignition), and familiarity with industrial protocols. Some travel up to 50% across North America is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering or in final year.
• 0–2 years in control systems engineering; internship or co‑op experience in a manufacturing or process industry is a plus.
• Coursework, internship, or hands‑on experience with PLC programming (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms) and HMI development (Allen‑Bradley, Ignition, or similar platforms).
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, IO Link, ASi, etc. is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, implementation, and support of PLC and HMI control systems for food & beverage processing & blending equipment.
• Develop electrical schematics, BoM, process flow diagrams, panel layouts, termination diagrams, and field wiring pull schedules per NEC/NFPA/UL specs.
• Prepare supporting documentation including functional narratives, manuals, and startup procedures.
• Travel up to 50% (Primarily North America) for testing and training at customer sites and onsite acceptance testing.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and support production and service personnel to grow technical expertise.

Entry Level Controls Engineer

TechniBlend is seeking an Entry Level Controls Engineer to join our Engineering Team. This role supports the design and specification of electrical and controls systems on TechniBlend projects and initiatives under the guidance of senior engineers.

• Assist in the design, implementation, and support of PLC and HMI control systems for food & beverage processing & blending equipment.
• Support the development of electrical schematics, Bill of Materials, process flow diagrams, panel layouts, termination diagrams, and field wiring pull schedules in accordance with NEC, NFPA and UL specifications.
• Help prepare supporting documentation including functional narratives, manuals, and startup procedures.
• Ability to participate in in-house functional testing in a test environment, customer functional acceptance testing, and onsite acceptance testing at customers facilities with travel up to 50%. (Primarily North America) including supporting training of maintenance and operations personnel in running and maintaining our solutions.
• Work with fellow engineering teams and support production and service personnel.
• Develop a functional understanding of our products, systems, and solutions.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to control systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Learn from and collaborate with senior engineers to grow technical expertise and industry knowledge.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives related to control systems and automation processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a similar discipline (or in final year of study).
• 0-2 years of experience in control systems engineering; internship or co‑op experience in a manufacturing or process industry is a plus.
• Coursework, internship, or hands‑on experience with PLC programming (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms) and HMI development (Allen‑Bradley, Ignition, or similar platforms).
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, IO Link, ASi, etc. is a plus.
• Basic understanding of control system theory, including PID control and feedback mechanisms.
• Willingness to gain hands‑on experience with hardware/software integration and troubleshooting of control systems.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn from senior engineers and grow within the organization.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards such as NEC, NFPA, ANSI, UL508A, etc., related to control system design and implementation is a plus.
• Ability to travel up to 50% (Primarily North America).
