Job summary

Gentex Corporation is seeking a Controls Engineer II to develop, deploy, and improve automated manufacturing systems. The role involves designing PLC programs, creating electrical schematics, and evaluating hardware and software for automation equipment.

You will collaborate with engineers to standardize solutions across equipment and support new manufacturing processes, while training production teams during launches. A strong background in robotics and MS Office is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or equivalent controls engineering experience.
• At least 3 years of experience designing, programming or integrating automated equipment.
• Experience with robotics applications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, expert-like support for new and existing automated systems.
• Monitor and define areas of improvement within existing automated equipment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Provide professional, expert-like support for new and existing automated systems .

WHAT TO BRING

• 4-year Engineering degree , or combination of education and equivalent controls engineering experience.
• A t Least 3 years of experience designing, programming or integrating automated equipment .
• Experience with robotics applications .
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office .

WHAT WILL HELP

• Experience with either AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical
• Experience with programmable motion systems and robotics
• The ability to read and troubleshoot electrical schematics
• Exceptional troubleshooting skills, with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic aptitude
