The position requires strong communication, attention to detail, and solid knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, with experience in plant layouts and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

  • Requires Associate degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering.
  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or 7+ years in manufacturing engineering preferred.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and plant layout knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, planning and cost estimates for projects under Electrical Engineering Supervisor.
  • Coordinate projects with equipment suppliers, contractors, maintenance foreman and departments.
  • Maintain electrical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Support HACCP/GMP/SQF, Safety and ISO paperwork and standards.
  • Assist with SCADA and PLC systems maintenance and improvements.
  • Provide support on maintenance projects and capital improvements.

Summary:The Electrical Engineering Technician reports to the Electrical Engineering Supervisor. This role will assist and coordinate between the Engineering department and the Maintenance department for various projects needs. They will assist with maintenance of documentation and drawings, knowledge of systems, and various hands on tasks as needed.Duties and Responsibilities:Assist in developing, planning and cost estimates of projects as requested by the Electrical Engineering SupervisorCoordination of implementation of projects; working with equipment suppliers, outside contractors, maintenance foreman and various departments involved.Facilitate outsourced contractor’s activities on KFI premises consulting with the Electrical Engineering SupervisorAssist with various maintenance items as requested by the Electrical Engineering SupervisorAssist with maintenance electricians on programming and system improvements and maintain drawings on any maintenance workWork with maintenance to provide exposure and further knowledge on various systemsAssist with various capital improvement projectsReview all paperwork required for ordering, receiving and verifying once procuredCreate and maintain technical documentation (electrical drawings) once project is completeAttend meetings and help/advise maintenance so that maintenance can take actions properly following requirements from HACCP/GMP/SQF, Safety or ISO standards including all necessary paperwork consulting with manager or the other departmentAssist with maintaining SCADA and PLC SystemProvide necessary support on maintenance projectsComply with all departmental & company-wide food safety policies and proceduresResponsible to report actual or potential food safety concerns to upper managementAll other duties as assignedEducation & Training:Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or Electromechanical EngineeringEducation & Training:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering in a manufacturing environment.Preferred experience includes overall industrial project management with an emphasis on production process engineering.
