Job summary

Eos Energy Enterprises, Inc. seeks an experienced Automation Engineer to troubleshoot and maintain PLC/HMI/SCADA systems, and to lead medium-to-large automation projects. You will design electrical diagrams, develop documentation, and coordinate with vendors for upgrades.

The role requires hands-on experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, Fanuc robotics, MES, and SQL databases, plus a Lean-Six-Sigma background and strong communication skills. Flexibility for night/weekend work is expected.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years hands-on PLC/HMI/SCADA programming.
  • 1 year Robotic Arm programming interfacing with PLC.
  • Experience with Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, RS485 and CIP Safety.
  • 5 years troubleshooting 24VDC, 120VAC, 480VAC.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC/HMI/SCADA, Fanuc robots, MES, Historian Server and SQL databases.
  • Lean-Six-Sigma certification and C++ knowledge a plus.
  • LOTO and GAMP 5 guidelines familiarity.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot Electrical, PLC/HMI and networking issues during production downtime.
  • Self-manage multiple automation projects; provide weekly status reports.
  • Design, develop and maintain automation standards in SCADA/HMI/PLC.
  • Create electrical/networking diagrams in AutoCAD/SolidWorks; produce manuals and specs.
  • Research sensors, controls and testing equipment for upgrades.
  • Maintain SQL Historian database and backups weekly.
  • Develop automation solutions across process areas.
  • Troubleshoot 1000VDC electrical connections and components.
  • Upgrade AC-DC inverters and DC power supplies for Energy Cube testing.
  • Be available for night/weekend/holiday downtime.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Effectively Troubleshoot Electrical, PLC/HMI and networking issues when equipment is down for production.
  • Self-managing multiple medium-to-large scale automation projects simultaneously in a timely manner. Report status on weekly basis.
  • Participate in designing, development and maintaining company automation standard in SCADA/HMI/PLC programming.
  • Develop full scale electrical/networking diagram for large scale project in AutoCAD or SolidWorks. Develop technical documentation such as Technical User Manual and Detailed Designed Specification documents.
  • Continuous research with automation vendor on sensors, controls and testing equipment for potential projects and upgrades on existing automation systems.
  • Maintain, update and backup SQL and Historian database for Enterprise operation on weekly basis.
  • Design, develop, test and maintain automation solutions in electrical and software across various process areas.
  • Responsible in troubleshooting a live Energy Cube (1000 volt DC) electrical connection and components issues with multimeter.
  • Troubleshoot and upgrade AC-DC Inverters and/or DC Power Supplies for Energy Cube Test.
  • Be able to work on PLC/HMI/SCADA/Server/Electrical applications at anytime (Night, Weekend, or holiday) aligned with production downtime.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
  • Able to design, develop, test and maintain large scale automation solutions.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with PLC and HMI or SCADA programming.
  • Minimum 1 years of Robotic Arm programming experience interfacing with PLC, preferred Fanuc programming skills.
  • Minimum 1 years of experience with Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, RS485 and CIP Safety protocols.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in hands-on 24VDC, 120VAC, 480VAC troubleshooting.
  • Comfortable of troubleshooting 1000VDC electrical circuitry and components.
  • Excellent Experience in Allen Bradley (Rockwell Automation) PLC/HMI/SCADA, Fanuc Robot Arms, MES, Historian Server and SQL Database solution experiences.
  • Certificate in Lean-Six-Sigma and High level language programming experience such as C++ will be a plus.
  • Proficient of LOTO procedure and GAMP 5 Guidelines.
  • Good understanding in NEC, IBC and NFPA.
  • Good communication and documentation skills with MS Office product in URS, FRS, DDS and FAT Process.
