Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Building Automation Systems specialist in Missouri to design and program BAS for HVAC environments. You will develop BACnet/Modbus integrations, configure WebCTRL via SiteBuilder, and implement control algorithms using Eikon with ViewBuilder interfaces.

The role requires 4+ years in HVAC or BAS controls and strong knowledge of BAS protocols. You will ensure testing, documentation, and adherence to project standards and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and program building automation systems
• Develop equipment database infrastructure
• Develop BACnet instance numbering schemes and incorporate BAS networking concepts
• Utilize BAS protocols including BACnet, Modbus, LON, and others
• Perform site‑specific configuration of the WebCTRL system using SiteBuilder
• Program control algorithms, including third‑party integrations, using Eikon
• Develop graphical and text‑based interfaces using Eikon and ViewBuilder
• Test programming and interfaces prior to deployment
• Support functional testing and commissioning for building systems
• Deliver final building automation system documentation incorporating project changes
• Maintain communication and proactive expectation setting with supervisors and project teams
• Adhere to project, company, and customer standards
• Provide technical support to sales representatives
• Identify and communicate project opportunities and risks
• Follow engineering processes and suggest process improvements
• Meet organizational safety and ethics standards
• Uphold employee and subcontractor safety
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 4+ years of experience in HVAC or BAS controls
• Proficiency in a Windows operating environment including email and Microsoft Office software
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical building systems
• Ability to balance multiple concurrent priorities
• Proficiency with primary functions of BAS software and associated engineering tools, with preference for experience in the Automated Logic suite
• Familiarity with third‑party communication protocols used in building automation including BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, LON, and N2
• Ability to design integrations with BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, LON, and N2
• Aptitude for problem solving, including the ability to troubleshoot remotely
• Time management skills including the ability to accurately estimate task duration and deliver on committed timelines
• Effective and professional communication and organizational skills
• Ability to understand and recommend modifications to sequences of operation for the automation of building systems
• Working knowledge of Automated Logic software, hardware, peripherals, add‑ons, and services
• Understanding of enterprise IP networks including layout
