Job summary

Aegis Worldwide is seeking a Controls Engineer in the Metro Detroit area for a direct-hire, full-time role. You will design electrical control systems, generate schematics in AutoCAD for welding and assembly equipment, and collaborate with engineers on robotic welding tooling.

You will also design and specify related robotic welding equipment and programs for PLC and HMI on the plant floor, requiring strong automation experience and hands-on problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (4-year college or 5+ years related) preferred.
• Experience with Allen Bradley Microview Software and Faunc Programming required.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control systems and create electrical schematics in AutoCAD for new and retrofit welding/assembly equipment.
• Assist in specifying ancillary robotic welding equipment including weld guns, torches, cabling, dress out, tool changers, tip dressers, torch cleaners.
• Understand, support, and program PLC and HMI programs located on the facility floor.

A prominent manufacturing company in the Metro Detroit area is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team. This is a direct hire position!

Responsibilities include:

• Complete design of electrical control systems including creation of electrical schematics using AutoCAD for new and retrofit welding and assembly equipment
• Assist engineers in specifying ancillary robotic welding equipment including weld guns, torches, cabling, dress out, tool changers, tip dressers, and torch cleaners.
• Understand, support, and program complete PLC and HMI programs located in equipment on the facility floor

This is full-time, salary role is part of our team and reports to the Engineering Manager.

Required experience:

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five years plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work with Allen Bradley Microview Software and Faunc Programming
