Job summary

TechniPower, Inc. seeks a Controls Engineer – Critical Power for an on-site role in Hackettstown, NJ. You will design, develop and implement control systems for low- and medium-voltage switchgear and collaborate with the power distribution team.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of control systems experience focusing on switchgear design/implementation.
• PLC programming/configuration with Siemens and Fanuc preferred.
• SCADA/HMI experience using WinCC and Wonderware.
• Knowledge of protection relays, power meters, and switchgear automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement control systems for low- and medium-voltage switchgear applications.
• Program and configure PLCs (Siemens and Fanuc preferred).
• Perform FAT and SAT testing of control systems at on-site locations.
• Test and validate protection relays, power meters, and switchgear automation systems.
• Support project takeoffs and wiring diagrams reviews.

I have a client located in the Hackettstown, NJ area that has an opportunity for a Controls Engineer. If you or any of your colleagues are interested in discussing this role.

In this role, you will be working as a Controls Engineer - Critical Power for a client that works in the power distribution industry. This position will be responsible for design, development and implementation of control systems for low and medium-voltage switchgear applications.

This position is a direct hire role that is a long term need for my client. This role must be worked on-site.

Pay; 130,000/Yr. depending on experience

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in control system engineering with a focus on switchgear design and implementation
• Program and configure PLCS - Siemens and Fanuc preferred
• SCADA and HMI experience using WinCC and Wonderware
• Configure and test protection relays, power meters and switchgear automation systems
• Strong understanding of project relays, electrical schematics etc.
• Execute Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
• Perform specification reviews and project takeoffs
