Job summary

NPAworldwide in Detroit, MI, is seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to design and implement automated control systems across mining operations. You will develop HMIs, integrate Factory Information Systems, and support commissioning of new equipment and capital projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial controls and automation.
  • Proficiency with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLCs, PowerFlex drives, and HMI platforms (e.g., PanelView, Wonderware, Ignition).
  • Experience with SCADA systems, networking, and Windows/VMware infrastructure.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on project and support needs.
  • Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

Roles and Responsibilities


  • Design and implement automated control systems with both automatic and manual modes.

Qualifications (Required)

Qualifications (Preferred)


  • CMMS Experience

  • Ability to work both first and third shift.

  • Knowledge of federal mining laws (MSHA).

  • Knowledge of mining methods and in use and operation of related equipment.

  • Knowledge in the installation, basic maintenance, or operation of mine ventilation and materials processing/handling systems and/or mine shaft maintenance
