Compensation: $90,000–$115,000 + 5% target bonus
Work Environment: Plant-facing / project-focused
- Own controls strategy, architecture, standards, and system requirements for major capital projects.
- Design line-level controls solutions that coordinate equipment across multiple OEM platforms.
- Develop system specifications covering network design, safety architecture, interlocks, sequencing logic, SCADA, and MES requirements.
- Coordinate OEMs and system integrators to ensure programming, documentation, and hardware meet established controls standards.
- Review, approve, and provide technical guidance on PLC and HMI development.
- Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
- Validate system performance and drive corrective actions through commissioning and startup.
- Provide technical leadership during equipment installation, startup, and commissioning activities.
- Troubleshoot system-level controls issues and tune automation performance.
- Advise plant and project teams on controls strategy, reliability, maintainability, and long-term system performance.
- Support project planning, scope definition, timelines, budgets, and risk assessments.
- Identify potential scope, schedule, and budget impacts early in the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to company-wide standards for controls engineering, safety systems, instrumentation, and industrial networking.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, operations, maintenance, and project teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
- 4+ years of experience with PLC and SCADA integration.
- Experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and/or comparable PLC platforms.
- Experience with Wonderware System Platform, InTouch, or related SCADA technologies.
- Experience leading controls scope for capital projects.
- Experience with vendor, OEM, and system integrator coordination.
- Strong understanding of industrial networking, safety systems, instrumentation, interlocks, and line integration.
- Experience with PLC/HMI architecture and controls system design.
- Experience with FAT, SAT, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication, project management, and technical leadership skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 50%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering.
- Controls engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience directing PLC programming or controls integration teams.
- Experience with Siemens, Schneider, GE, Mitsubishi, Omron, Beckhoff, or other industrial automation platforms.
- Exposure to robotic systems and advanced industrial communication networks.
- Experience with large-scale automation platforms.
- Experience with major production-line installations.
- Strong experience leading FAT/SAT, commissioning, and startup activities.

- This is a plant-facing, project-focused position based in Denver, CO, with travel to manufacturing facilities and project locations across the United States. The position requires the ability to travel up to 50% domestically.
