Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan is seeking a Controls Engineer for a hybrid role, combining home and on-site work. You will define and implement HIL interfaces to ECUs and sensor hardware, and develop Matlab/Simulink models for interfacing to HIL systems.

You will create and execute HIL test plans, collect and analyze test data, and document results while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Requirements include a Bachelor's in engineering and 3 years' experience with HIL,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Electronics Engineering or related field; 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop systems, Electronics Lab Equipment, and test reporting.
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink, dSPACE tools, CANoe/CANalyzer/Vehicle Spy, ECU-Test, and software scripting in Python, Matlab or similar.

What you'll be able to do:

Controls Engineer - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, Michigan). Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned worksite. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from the anticipated worksite. Defining and implementing HIL simulator interfaces to electronic control units and subsystem sensor and actuator hardware. Designing, implementing, validating, and documenting Matlab/Simulink simulation models for interfacing to HIL system hardware and communication networks. Creating and executing HIL test plans for validation of Control System software and hardware. Collecting, processing, and analyzing test data, and creating test reports.

You’ll have…

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. 3 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Commissioning and utilizing hardware in the loop systems with Electronics Lab Equipment including volt meters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies. 2. Using Matlab and Simulink for control system simulation. 2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Using dSPACE ControlDesk and ConfigurationDesk for HIL system configuration and testing. 2. Creation of test plans and automation of test scripts for verification of embedded software with Python, Matlab, and ECU-Test. 3. Using automotive multiplex network tools CANoe, CANalyzer, or Vehicle Spy for analyzing and verifying network performance. 4. Programming in a high-level language: C, C++, Python, or Matlab. 1 year of experience with the following skill is required: 1. Using software version control and process automation tools GitHub and Jenkins.

We are offering a salary of$110,000.04 - $173,814.24/yr.
