Job summary

CEC Controls Company in McDonough, GA is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to assist in researching, designing, developing, and testing automation and intelligent systems for industrial controls. You will review project specifications, generate system layouts and control logic, and help ensure adherence to QOS policies.

The role involves onsite installation support, debugging, and completing as‑builts and documentation for the Project Engineer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
• Two years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in researching, designing, developing, and testing automation and intelligent systems.
• Review project specifications and resolve differences between quotes and specs.
• Perform system architecture tasks including power distribution analyses.
• Create system maps, sequences of operations, and dimension layouts.
• Develop control logic and Smart Display designs (SCADA/HMI).
• Manage materials and issue EBMs; place material orders.
• Support installation, onsite debugging, launches, and standby activities.
• Complete as-builts, gather baseline data, and document quality defects.
• Submit as-builts to the Project Engineer and prepare unit cleanup sheets.

Job description

Duties: Assist Research, design, develop, and test automation systems, intelligent systems, smart devices, and industrial system controls in alignment with company QOS policies, procedures, and instructions; review project specifications, and assist in resolving any differences between quotes and job specifications; perform system architecture tasks, including investigating non-standard materials and control panel power requirements and distribution; allocate unit-specific EBM letters; review specifications and standard practices, including internal hardwired and logic standards as well as general specifications and scope of work; design support on non-standard systems by generating system map layouts, sequences of operations, reviewing cycle time studies and dimension switch layouts, creating design packages, developing and entering control logic, and designing Smart Displays, including screens, PLC logic, and descriptions; manage material responsibilities, including advance material orders, specifying Mod Box and panel materials, and writing corresponding EBM’s; assist in installation, independently debug systems, support launch and standby activities, complete as-builts, gather baseline data per specifications, complete quality defect reports, submit as-builts to the Project Engineer, and complete unit cleanup sheets for submission to the Project Engineer.

Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor – Mechatronics Engineering or a related engineering field of study. Will accept equivalent of foreign degree.

Experience: Two (2) years in the position above, Mechatronics Engineer, Electrical Engineer or a related role.

Experience Must Include

• Assist in Hardware design of Conveyor Controls
• Develop PLC and HMI Programming; and
• Perform Onsite System Integration
• Troubleshoot complex automation issues.
