Clear Concepts, Inc. is seeking a Controls Engineer near Oneida, NY to design and implement machine control systems. You will size and select VFDs, motors, and protection devices, and develop with AutoCAD alongside PLCs and HMIs.

The role includes programming Allen-Bradley PLCs, supporting Siemens controls, and leading installation and commissioning of equipment across local facilities with ~30% travel. NEC and machine-safety knowledge is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in engineering or related field.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and AutoCAD.
• Eligible to work in the US without restriction.
• Knowledge of NEC and machine safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop machine control systems using AutoCAD, including sizing and selection of VFDs, motors, filters, protection devices, PLCs and HMIs.
• Program, modify, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs and ladder logic; support Siemens controls.
• Lead installation, integration, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment across multiple local facilities (≈30% travel).
• Provide hands-on electrical and controls troubleshooting support to maintenance teams, including diagnostics and real-time issue resolution.
• Connect to equipment, diagnose control system issues, and modify or develop PLC logic to support production improvements.

We are seeking a Controls Engineer to work for a World Class Manufacturer near the Oneida, NY area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and develop machine control systems using AutoCAD, including sizing and selection of VFDs, motors, filters, protection devices, PLC's, and HMI's.
• Program, modify, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs and ladder logic systems, along with Siemens controls support.
• Lead installation, integration, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment across multiple local facilities (approximately 30% travel).
• Provide hands-on electrical and controls troubleshooting support to maintenance teams, including equipment diagnostics, upgrades, wiring, and real-time machine issue resolution.
• Connect to equipment, diagnose control system issues, and modify or develop PLC logic to support production and operational improvements.

Education and Experience:

• AAS or BS in Engineering and 5+ years of experience. Will also consider multiple years of equivalent experience in lieu of formal degree.
• Experience with PLC’s, HMI’s and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with National Electrical Code and machine safety standard.
• Candidates must be eligible to work in US without restriction indefinitely.
