True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Controls Engineer for a world-class manufacturing facility near Oneida, NY. The role involves designing and integrating machine control systems, with travel to multiple local sites (about 30%).

You will program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs, support Siemens controls, and ensure compliance with NEC and safety standards while collaborating with maintenance teams to optimize production and reliability.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (AAS/BS) and 5+ years of experience.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with NEC and machine safety standards.
• Eligible to work in the US without restriction.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop machine control systems using AutoCAD, including sizing and selection of VFDs, motors, filters, protection devices, PLCs, and HMIs.
• Program, modify, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs and ladder logic systems, along with Siemens controls support.
• Lead installation, integration, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment across multiple local facilities (approximately 30% travel).
• Provide hands-on electrical and controls troubleshooting support to maintenance teams, including equipment diagnostics, upgrades, wiring, and real-time machine issue resolution.
• Connect to equipment, diagnose control system issues, and modify or develop PLC logic to support production and operational improvements.

We are seeking a Controls Engineer to work for a World Class Manufacturer near the Oneida, NY area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and develop machine control systems using AutoCAD, including sizing and selection of VFDs, motors, filters, protection devices, PLC's, and HMI's.
• Program, modify, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs and ladder logic systems, along with Siemens controls support.

• Familiarity with National Electrical Code and machine safety standard.
• Candidates must be eligible to work in US without restriction indefinitely.
