What you will do

As an HVAC Electrical Controls Installer under specific supervision, performs routine installation and checkout on a variety of systems utilizing codes, company procedures, engineering drawings and personal analysis. Works with "Prime" electrical contractors as required. Develops a positive interface with the customer to ensure confidence and satisfaction with the system installation.

How you will do it

1. Installs raceways, cables and wiring to meet local or national codes, standards, and customer system requirements.
2. Mounts and terminates controls equipment as needed.
3. May assist sales with electrical estimates, including walking retrofit projects.
4. Checks out wiring and terminations with test instruments as needed.
5. Keeps management informed of job needs, progress and issues.
6. Completes paperwork, including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation. Provides feedback to JCI Engineering on changes and keeps as-built drawings current.
7. Resolves job site conflicts regarding installation issues or escalates concerns to management as required.
8. Communicates with the customer as necessary upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
9. Adheres to Johnson Controls safety programs and policies.
10. Foster a collaborative work environment by effectively communicating, actively listening, and contributing positively to team dynamics.
11. Assist system technicians with testing and commissioning of equipment and controls.
12. Performs other related duties as assigned.

What we look for

Required

1. Electrical apprenticeship or formal training in electrical installation techniques.
2. Demonstrated ability to bend and install conduit per local codes.
3. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret drawings, both construction drawings and electrical wiring schematics.
4. Possesses working knowledge of local codes as it applies to controls.
5. Experienced in scope determination of installation materials.
6. Able to work independently.
7. Demonstrated basic computer and smart phone skills.
8. Clean driving record.
9. Must pass drug and background screening.
10. Able to support project needs within a 100-mile radius of Knoxville, TN.
11. Able to work weekends and after hour shifts if required.

Preferred

1. Four years' experience directly with controls installations.
