Job summary

BioMarin, a leading rare disease biotechnology company, seeks a seasoned accounting professional to drive US Controllership initiatives and ensure robust financial reporting through strategic accounting changes and integrations.

You will bridge technical accounting concepts with ledger operations, partner across functions, and help scale the accounting function amid transformation and business initiatives. This hybrid role requires onsite presence in San Rafael twice weekly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA or equivalent experience preferred.
• This role is hybrid requiring onsite presence in San Rafael twice per week.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between U.S. Controllership and stakeholders to support complex accounting matters.
• Translate accounting conclusions into practical processes, controls, and reporting requirements.
• Create and maintain procedures and metrics to improve consistency, efficiency, and control.
• Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability within Controllership.
• Lead accounting integration activities including close readiness, mapping, and data flows.
• Support system implementations, testing, data validation, and post-implementation stabilization.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes using AI-enabled tools and automation.
