Goldman Sachs is seeking a high‑caliber Controller for the Asset & Wealth Management Private Product Control team in New York. The role focuses on valuation oversight, independent price verification, and reporting for illiquid private investments across private equity strategies.
You will collaborate with Operations, Risk, Fund Accounting, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering to ensure accurate valuation, reporting, and controls while supporting investor and regulatory reporting requirements.
Controllers ensure that the firm meets all the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated and public financial institution. In the Controllers Department, our professionals measure the profitability of, and risks associated with, every aspect of the firm’s business. Controllers also ensure that the firm’s activities are conducted in compliance with the regulations governing transactions in the financial markets.
The successful candidate will join the Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) Private Product Control team, which is responsible for financial reporting, valuation oversight, and control functions for private equity strategies across the firm’s alternative investment platforms.
The role will support the valuation and independent price verification of illiquid private investments across various equity strategies, through analysis of valuation inputs, review of third‑party pricing, and preparation of valuation support for fair value reviews. The candidate will work closely with cross‑functional teams including Operations, Risk, Fund Accounting, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering to ensure accurate valuation, reporting, and controls, while supporting investor and regulatory reporting requirements.
The expected base salary for this New York, NY, United States‑based position is $85,000–$140,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year‑end.
