Job summary

Mission Wealth, a Barron’s Top 100 RIA, is seeking a growth-minded Controller to lead the accounting function as the firm scales nationally. You will oversee monthly closes, financial reporting, internal controls, and treasury operations, partnering with finance leadership to design scalable infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has a CPA, 6+ years in accounting (wealth/financial services preferred), and deep GAAP knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in wealth management/financial services.
• CPA designation is required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience managing monthly close and preparing financial statements.
• Experience with cash flow management and treasury operations.
• Experience with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial partners.
• Familiarity with cloud-based accounting platforms, CRM, portfolio reporting platforms, and expense systems.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP-compliant financial reporting.
• Prepare and support financial reporting packages for partners, leadership, and lenders.
• Own the monthly close process including GL management and reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable, expense management, corporate card activity.
• Serve as liaison with external accountants, tax advisors, audit, and capital partners.
• Maintain equity records and reporting through Carta.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and audit documentation.
• Manage treasury operations and liquidity planning.
• Support build-out of scalable accounting infrastructure.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting efficiency.
