Job summary

Jobot is seeking its first dedicated Controller in Austin, TX. You will build the accounting and compliance function from scratch, own the books, close, and government contract compliance, and drive audit readiness.

The role offers a direct path to leadership, equity upside, and a chance to shape finance systems early. The position is hybrid in Austin and focuses on DCAA/compliance, revenue recognition across contract types, and partnering with founders to scale finance function for growth and

Qualifications

Public accounting experience, Big 4 preferred.
Controller/Assistant Controller experience in government contracting, venture-backed defense or tech.
Hands-on DCAA, indirect rate and incurred cost experience.
Experience selecting and implementing finance systems at an early-stage company.
U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

Own the books, close, and government contract compliance.
Lead audit readiness and ASC 606 revenue policies.
Build internal controls and scalable accounting processes.
Select and implement accounting, billing, expense and payroll systems.
Collaborate with contracts and program teams on billing and revenue recognition.
Manage external auditors, tax advisors, banks and outsourced partners.
